MELODY

Hello, I am Melody, a single mom with a 9 years old son from Philippines. I am 30 years old and currently finishing my 5th years service in a Qatari family here in Qatar. I'm a nanny of 4 kids ages 8, 10, 11 and 16. In the first or couple of years I am staying with them, my tasks is to take care of them, from waking them up, to breakfast, take them to school, fetching them, lunch, play with them, helping them to do their homework, remind them to take a bath before bed., and at the same time, do housekeeping, keep their room neat and tidy, cook whatever food they want.

I am silent, but cheerful in front of the kids. Not a fan of social media, yeah I do have a messaging apps only to connect with my family. In my free time, I always choose music over television. I listen to podcast about self care to protect my mental health. I am telling this, because working abroad away from the family makes the helper vulnerable from sadness. For me, having a healthy mind, physically or mentally makes the helper reliable to her job. We can perform  our daily tasks better
