Nancy

Hello, good day. My name is Nancy, and I am a 37-year-old Filipino woman. I have been working as a Domestic Helper in Singapore since 2013, with the same employer until 2022. My main duties involved taking care of an elderly couple, where the gentleman had dementia and the lady was bedridden. I attended to their daily needs, such as bathing the lady, administering their medications, feeding the lady, changing her diapers around 5 times a day or more as needed, and transferring her from the bed to a wheelchair. The gentleman was mostly independent in his daily activities but needed supervision, as he could sometimes wander off during meals due to his dementia. I also provided massages and played mahjong with the lady to keep her happy and entertained. Although taking care of elderly and bedridden individuals is challenging, I find it fulfilling and rewarding. Unfortunately, the gentleman passed away in 2015 due to pneumonia, and the lady succumbed to COVID-19 and other complications in 2022. After their passing, I made the decision to return to my home country.
