Mina

My name is Mina, and I am a 26-year-old Filipino domestic helper working in Hong Kong. I arrived on September 1st to work for my first employer, who has a family of five: a couple and their three children, aged 9, 6, and 3. Their house is quite large, measuring 2,500 square meters. My main responsibilities include taking care of the three children, tutoring them, cooking, cleaning, and driving them to school.

My employer is very strict about sanitation. Every time I go outside and return home, I am required to sanitize everything I bring, including my cellphone, and wash all the groceries. After that, I must take a shower. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate that the children would sometimes be rude to me, using phrases like "You're an idiot!" or "Stupid!" Although I genuinely love kids, these interactions have made me unhappy and quite stressed. 

To make matters worse, my employer often seems displeased with my work and does not appreciate my efforts. Even when I complete my tasks, she expects everything to be perfect. My employer comes from a wealthy family, and I feel overwhelming pressure to meet their high standards.

Given these circumstances, I have decided to seek a change. I plan to break my contract on December 1st, which will mark three months of my employment. I am hoping to find a simpler, kinder, and more understanding employer in the future.
