Lian

I am Lian, 37 years old, and a single mom with a 16-year-old son. I have been working here in Hong Kong for 4 years and 11 months with 3 different employers. I spent 2 years with my current employer, and my contract is about to finish this coming September 21. They are a Chinese family with 2 adults and 3 kids, but the wife and 2 kids are only here occasionally. I take care of the needs of the 10-year-old boy, clean the house, cook food, do the laundry, go to the market, and wash the car.

My second employer was a family of 3, a couple and a 4-year-old boy. I did various tasks for them, including taking care of the boy, taking him to school and his extra activities, cleaning the house, cooking, doing the laundry, ironing, walking their small dog, washing the car, and doing the marketing. I worked for them for 2 years under one contract.

My first employer was a family of 4, including 2 elderly individuals and 2 adults. My responsibilities included cleaning the house, doing the marketing, and preparing food for cooking because the grandma was the one who did the actual cooking. I worked with them for 11 months.
