Job Requirement

Job Description

We’re a family of 3 - Husband (British-Indian), wife (Indian) and an active toddler/son of 18 months. Our main requirement of a helper is around cooking, housework, grocery-shopping, etc. I’m a full-time mum and my husband and I are very hands-on with our son. So childcare is a low priority. We're hoping to find a helper who really enjoys cooking and housework, is passionate about looking up new recipes and cares about keeping the house clean and tidy.

We're primarily a vegetarian family. Husband and son are vegetarian. They do eat eggs. I eat fish and seafood occasionally but don't cook at home. So family meals are vegetarian. We are not comfortable with regular non-vegetarian cooking at home, however, we're open to working out a meal allowance for you if you do not wish to eat the food you cook for the family. Ideally, we'd like to have someone who has a basic idea about Indian cooking - although we do eat other types of cuisines as well.

We are hoping to find a helper who is kind, honest and trustworthy. We believe in treating our helper with respect, understanding and kindness and would hope for the same in return.

We offer all Sundays and public holidays off (and if we ever needed you to work on a rare occasion, we'd compensate for those days).

We currently live near East Coast. We’re fairly reasonable people and do not have arbitrary rules, with the expectation that our helper is a responsible adult who will exercise her own judgement based on the needs of the family. We believe in working with a sense of mutual cooperation and understanding.

We'd offer a separate room (helper's room) and bathroom for our helper.
