Expat family with a baby on the way looking for help

Who we are

• We are Megan and Paul, a couple with a newborn on the way!
• Megan is 29 and British. Paul is 38 and French. We met in 2017 and got married in 2020. We’ve been expats for several years. We used to live in Hong Kong before relocating to Singapore in 2020.
• We are loving, affectionate and enjoy spending time with each other. We enjoy sports, travelling and hosting dinner parties at home. 
• We’ve recently moved into a nice house on the East Coast of Singapore
• Megan works majority of the time from home, and Paul 2 days a week [typically Thursday & Friday]. 
• Megan is pregnant and we’re expecting a baby girl early December 2023

Who we are looking for

• With the baby on the way, we’ll need someone to help us at home
• We are looking for someone who
  • Fluent in English. This is an absolute must as communication is key
  • Trustworthy, hardworking and conscientious 
  • Likes to cook and is meticulous at cleaning
  • Discret when needed

  • One half day per week (Tues or weds)
  • If required to work on your off day you will be paid overtime
• Annual leave
  • We offer 10 days of annual leave each that can be taken once agreed with us
  • If we are on holiday for more than 4 days
    • You will not be required to stay home
    • Make sure you are back at least 24 hours before us to put the house in order
• Training
  • If there is a course you are interested in and can be beneficial to the house, we will pay for it
  • The above needs to be agreed on beforehand 

Scope of work

• We will handle most of the duties related to the baby
• Therefore we’re looking for someone managing the general housekeeping chores and running errands:
  • preparing / cooking meals
  • cleaning / keeping the house neat and organised
  • vacuuming / mopping / sweeping the floors
  • washing dishes
  • laundry
  • ironing
  • gardening
  • grocery shopping - occasional
  • running errands, e.g. collecting an order or making a trip to the dry cleaner 
• As the baby gets older, scope of duties might evolve. For example occasional babysitting will be asked. Hence why we need someone comfortable with newborn care feeding, nappy change, soothing and playing 

Conditions of employment

• As we provide, what we believe is a very good employment package, we also have extremely high expectations about the person that will leave in our house
• Here are  some of the rules that we expect that person to respect. 
  • Absolutely no other work for anyone else. We want you to be rested to take care of our house and our family. Hence why rest days should be for rest or other hobbies and not work
  • Never under any condition bring anyone at home
  • Respect our space. The room we provide is large. Therefore we ask that when we’re not home that you do not use the other rooms of the house
  • Never be intoxicated when working
  • Never engage in night activities that would result in you being tired during the day when we expect you to perform your duties
  • Obviously stealing or borrowing without our permission any of our belongings will not be allowed
  • Any mistreatment (physical of verbal) of any family member will not be tolerated
  • Always be reachable during working hours. We will pay for your phone plan, you will just need to make sure your phone is always charged.
• Failing to comply to any of those rules will result in immediate termination of employment
