Experienced Helper/Caregiver for Parents

We are looking for our parents who are seniors who need support with their day to day functions and we are looking for a competent, responsible and compassionate caregiver. The ideal candidate will be patient and friendly with excellent communication skills. You should be able to follow instructions and perform a variety of tasks that support the quality of life and daily needs of my parents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and remind parents take prescribed medication when needed
• Assist parents with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist parents with personal care and hygiene. 
• Monitor and Assist with physical therapy exercises and games/activities
• Plan and prepare meals (light cooking) with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Light housekeeping - keep room and kitchen clean and tidy
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion. 
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as a caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR)
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate
• Good time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong ethics
• Physical endurance
