Seeking friendly, reliable helper with good communication

We are a warm and welcoming British/French family seeking a friendly, proactive helper to join our household as a valued team member - our current lovely helper has had to return to The Philippines due to a family matter, and while we are sad to see her go, we supported and respected her decision. We would like someone to start as soon as possible but will not rush the process as we want to take time to find the right "fit" for our family.The ideal candidate will have excellent English skills, a positive "can-do" attitude, and be open to learning, asking questions, and making suggestions.

Our home is located in San Shek Wan, a village in the beautiful nature of South Lantau and we offer a comfortable living environment with a private room and other attractive benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Childcare Support: Arrange playdates for our 4.5-year-old daughter, help suggest healthy and varied lunch box menu ideas (and help prepare them), and be involved in her daily activities. Some evening babysitting will be required but we usually offer a later start / earlier finish a day before/after to ensure our helper has sufficient rest. We handle most homework and school assignments ourselves.

 

• Baby Care: Shadow and assist with caring for a baby, with opportunities for babysitting in the future, watch the baby monitor if I need to go out. First aid training can be provided.

 

• Household Chores: Assist with daily cleaning (loading / unloading washing machine, dishwasher, daily tidy up, sweep patio - we usually ask our daughter to help do this. Note: We have a lady who comes once a week (about 3 hours) to do "heavy cleaning" such as bathrooms, change bedding etc. but this role will still require some cleaning.

 

• Communication and Teamwork: Maintain open communication with us regarding household needs, child activities, and any challenges. Be proactive in seeking solutions and asking questions.

 

• Food preparation:  I enjoy cooking and am very hands on in the kitchen and would like to train someone how to make our favourite dishes. I am also studying at the culinary arts institute here in Hong Kong.

• Openness to Feedback and Questions: Comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback to ensure tasks are completed effectively. Comfortable following a routine but also able to adapt to changes and with a flexible mindset and happy to suggesting changes / improvements to the household.

About Our Family:We are a British/French couple who have lived in Hong Kong for over 10 years. Our household is relaxed, with my husband working remotely and me working part-time from home. We have a patio garden and rooftop, no pets, and one car.
